Riding and Hacking
Those wishing to do a spot of hacking will find that Scottish Equestrian caters for all ages and abilities from absolute beginners through to advanced level riders. In general the hack is aimed at those who are a little more experienced such as intermediates or advanced riders who can walk, trot or canter unaided. Even experienced riders are accompanied on the hacks giving peace of mind while they enjoy the amazing views in the area. Hacks cost £22.00 for thirty minutes or £30.00 for forty five minutes.

Remus Equestrian Centre is located conveniently for those travelling from Edinburgh, Dunfermline or Glenrothes and is situated in Cardenden Fife. Riding and Hacking

Riders new to the centre will have their ability assessed before riding in either a hack or trek then will travel through Cardenden Forest with a qualified leader. This woodland is spectacular and is not to be missed for those able to participate. Less experienced riders will negotiate appropriate areas in the Remus Centre, while those age four and above who are fairly new to riding may join one of the short woodland treks offered here too.

There are two types of ride outs available at Remus, one along the beach and one through the forest. The beach ride out traverses Leven Beach to Silverburn and is really exhilarating for participants as they canter along the golden sands that grace this picturesque area. The woodland ride out goes through the forest close to Kelty and offers a choice of five trails. Both ride outs last three hours and are offered from April to October, while a packed lunch also is provided for riders to enjoy.
Riding lessons are offered at Remus to suit all ages and abilities. Types of lessons offered include

Own a Pony Day/Own a Pony Weeks
Riders age six years and over are welcomed at the Remus pony days or camps that are offered during school holidays throughout the year. So what exactly do these own a pony activities offer? Riders who join in a one day session will learn how to muck out, bed down, grooming, tacking up, cleaning and saddling up their horse.
The five day pony camps are great fun for kids and involve everything the one day sessions offer plus hacks, treks and lessons, Gymkhana games, competitions, treasure hunts and show jumping. The weekly camps run from Monday to Friday inclusive from 9am to 5pm, while the one day sessions run from 10am to 4pm.
